Read Tooth-Focused Books<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Whether you want to describe what dentist visits are like or explain baby teeth coming out, a children\u2019s book is the easiest way to do it in a way your child will enjoy. Fortunately, there are tons of books out there that discuss these important dental health issues with characters your child likely already knows and loves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For instance, Little Critter, Arthur, the Berenstain Bears, and other favorite picture book characters can engage your child\u2019s interest while educating them on the importance of oral care and what to expect at the dentist\u2019s office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Watch Kid-Friendly Videos Online<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

While books work for some kids, videos may be more appealing for others. Just as with all online content, you\u2019ll need to be careful about the videos you show your kids about dentistry. You can find some more graphic procedures on YouTube, but you can also find more kid-friendly videos. In other words, you\u2019ll probably need to watch the videos in advance or with your child to ensure that they view appropriate content for their age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some have printable coloring sheets, videos, and even full curriculums you can take advantage of to teach your child about how to care for their smile. It may take some searching to find the resources you want to use, but they are out there!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Go on a Field Trip to the Dentist\u2019s Office<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ultimately, your child will need to start visiting the dentist on a regular basis. During these appointments, the dentist will educate your child on various issues like eating less sugar, proper brushing and flossing technique, and more. This professional can also answer their (and your) questions! After all, it takes a village to raise a child, and your child\u2019s dentist can play a helpful role in raising an adult with healthy habits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
