Meet Dr. Andrea Beltzner

Hillsporo pediatric dentist, Dr. Andrea BeltznerDr. Andrea Beltzner received her dental degree from Harvard in 2005 and then completed a pediatric dental residency program at the University of Connecticut. She is extremely active in organized dentistry and has served as President of both the Oregon Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Multnomah Dental Society, in addition to serving on their leadership boards for many years. She recently served a term as Chair of the Leadership Development Committee for the Oregon Dental Association.

She enjoys volunteering regularly, and she has volunteered with the Family Room, Creston Children's Dental Clinic, on the Tooth Taxi and at events like Mission of Mercy and Give Kids a Smile. She has been recognized in recent years by Portland Monthly Magazine as a Top Pediatric Dentist in Portland; her selection was based on votes from her dental colleague peers.

She received her board certification in pediatric dentistry in 2007 and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She was also nominated and selected for membership into the American College of Dentists, which is an honorary organization for dentists who have "exemplified excellence through outstanding leadership and exceptional contributions to dentistry and society."  She was also nominated and selected for membership into the International College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy, two similar honorary organizations for dentists.

She chose pediatric dentistry as a specialty not only because she loves children, but also because she values being able to help children develop a positive attitude toward dental care that will last them a lifetime, by making dentistry fun and comfortable for them while they are young. Parents often remark to her that their children were so excited they couldn't wait for their dental visit, the highest compliment she could receive.

When she is not busy caring for little ones at the dental office, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, camping, trying new restaurants, and running. She is married and has a daughter named Lucy and a son named Charlie as well as three loveable dogs, Basil, Dash and Zorro.
