Dentistry for Infants

Once your child is born, it’s very important that you start thinking about their oral care. Since bacteria can develop and spread in their mouth, we encourage you to use a damp cloth to massage and clean their gums in between feedings. The moment a tooth erupts, you’ll need to start brushing it to prevent cavity development. Once six months have passed or once they reach one year of age, it’s time to bring them into our office for their first appointment. This visit is meant to be more informative for you as a parent, but we will still perform a very brief exam of their mouth to ensure their teeth are developing properly.

Dentistry for Toddlers

Once they reach their toddler years, more teeth should start to erupt. While your child is still young, you should help them establish a daily oral care routine of brushing and flossing. This will help them realize how important daily oral care is moving forward and prove that they are fully capable of brushing and flossing on their own. We’ll help them get acclimated to the dental chair as they age, making sure to keep tabs on their oral health and development as well as perform dental cleanings once they feel comfortable.

Dentistry for Children

Soon enough, permanent teeth will begin to replace their primary (baby) teeth. From there, they’ll start to see what their permanent smile will look like going forward. This is one of the most important times of their life to have dental appointments as it gives us a chance to stay proactive against issues should they appear. Through early intervention, it’s much easier to address or reduce problems if they occur, such as crowding or misaligned teeth as well as tooth decay or gum disease.
